Angel Wings

I was discussing halloween candy with a sixth grade friend of mine in the states. She told me she didn’t get much candy but got more chocolate.  I asked her what category chocolate falls under if it is not candy…her reply:

chocolate falls under the category of the best food on the planet.

I wholeheartedly agree with her, especially if it is MILK CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!

When I Say I Am A Christian

When I say “I am a Christian”,

I’m not shouting, “I am saved”.

I’m whispering, “I get lost,

That’s why I chose this Way.”

When I say “I am a Christian”,

I don’t speak of this with pride,

I’m confessing that I stumble,

And need Someone to be my Guide.

When I say “I am a Christian”,

I’m not trying to be strong.

I’m professing that I’m weak,

And pray for strength to carry on.

I’m not bragging of my success.

I’m admitting I have failed,

And cannot ever pay the debt.

I’m not claiming to be perfect.

My flaws are too visible,

This is my favourite photo - it is to me like the road to eternal life-one path and the end is foggy-you really can’t see it too well.  I think that is what the road to eternal life is.

I know I said I wouldn’t blog on the political end of things anymore, but this morning after reading several comments regarding Obama and the world’s reaction, the Lord put this on my heart and I believe it is a message to all of us who call ourselves Christians.  ~

You might think that’s a strange title for a blog, but after reading the reaction of the world to Obama’s election, a thought came to my mind….are people (who call themselves Christians-followers of Jesus) realizing that they are putting their hope, their all in all in a person?  What happened to God?  If we can get so excited about one person coming into office, one person becoming our next President, a black man becoming our next President, can we be as equally or might I suggest, MORE excited about God, our Lord?  Remember that Jesus was Jewish, but more than that He was a man, and what He had and is saying is NOT popular.  Remember that Jesus came to save the world and only He can get us out of whatever predicament we are in.  Not Obama, not Bush, not McCain, no person can save us except Jesus.  We need (as Christians, as followers of Christ) to get our heads out of our laps, to lift up our eyes and our hands and to see where our hope and our help comes from.  I challenge you to be as excited about Christ and what He is doing in and around us, in and THROUGH you just as much as you are excited about Obama. Many stood up for Obama, will you take a stand for our Lord?

Oh…the weather outside is frightful, but the air is so delightful, and if you don’t mind me saying…“LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Ok..last year it snowed on November 5th…that was the first snow at least for the Borodyanka area…usually Ukraine has snow BEFORE America-well…at least mainstream America-like Eastcoast, Midwest…this year THEY got snow before us!!! WHERE IS MY SNOW??? WHERE IS MY SNOW??? WHERE OH WHERE OH WHEREEEEEE……IS MY SNOW?

I am praying for snow…and LOTS OF IT…..

Well..the elections are over, Obama will be our new President.  And now, it really doesn’t matter what I think or what anyone else thinks, as long as he does his job and doesn’t commit a federal offense, he’ll be the president for the next four years.  For many, this is a dream come true, the first black man in office, for others, it is a defeat and perhaps time to watch and be careful as the world changes, for better or for worse.  I am not going to put in what I think, it doesn’t matter and I am not one to get caught up in “politicalness” over the internet.  Come over for tea sometime and I will tell you what I think, from a Biblical standpoint, but for now, as the process is starting for Bush to pack up all his personal effects and leave the office he has attended to for better or for worse for the last two terms, and for Obama to move in for at least the first term, all I would like to say is that as Christians our duty now is to pray for Obama and his family.  However you want to pray is between you and God, but I believe that we need to pray.  

Soooo..that is all I have to say for this blog during blogging month, and the last (perhaps) I have to say on “politicalness” over the internet.  

May God truly and sincerely bless America.

And don’t forget to listen to the sound of Angel Wings-you never know when an Angel might come for a visit. ~
